How do I get to Outpost North?

Our basecamp is literally ‘in the middle of nowhere’, about 15 km from the nearest town Bengtsfors, and 30 km from Arjäng – Värmland, in Sweden. Here are four ways to get here.

Night bus from Hamburg

The most comfortable and environmentally friendly way to travel directly to our base camp is with our canoe trip bus. It departs from Hamburg on Friday evening at around 21:30.

The return journey from our base camp is on Saturday evening. The bus will arrive in Hamburg on Sunday morning.

Our bus departs from the P&R car park in Stellingen.

Plane from Eindhoven

The fastest way to travel is by plane. When booking, choose our direct flight (return) from Eindhoven Airport to Oslo Gardermoen. Depending on the date, the flight departs at 11:45 or 18:05. View the flight schedule here.

From the airport we have organised a shuttle bus that will take you directly to the base camp in about 2 hours and 30 minutes and after the week back to the airport for your return flight. The shuttle bus is included in the price. There are only a limited number of flights available each week.

With your own car

It’s also possible to come with your own car. You can park your car at our base camp.

The best routes:

It is best to take the ferry or the Storebælt Bridge to Denmark. You can buy tickets for these crossings online or on site. Then continue your journey from Denmark to Sweden via the Øresund Bridge. You can buy a ticket for the bridge at the toll booths or via this link.

Please note that additional costs of approx. 190€ – 330€ will be incurred for the ferry/bridge and toll bridge.

You can find our base camp ‘Outpost North’ here.

By train

You can take the train to Oslo Gardermoen Airport. From there, a Flixbus runs to Årjäng. It is best to book a taxi for the last stretch to the base camp.

Another option is to take the train to Ed or Bengtsfors. From there, book a taxi to the base camp. These are not accessible by public transport.
